Teaching Speaking

Introduction

If you ask by someone what does you expected for the first time when you learn English?  I think almost of us will give same answer that is I want to be fluent in speaking English.  Yup, it's true, it’s reality. Speaking is one of the most important skills in language. It doesn't mean that other skills are not important, but it is because speaking is one key to know how someone can categorize as a fluent or to know someone can speak in other language of course they have to speak. In order to be able to communicate with other people you need to speak, you need to understand, need response so that your communication can intertwined. Related to that, teaching speaking in EFL class is significant to do, especially in digital era.  We are easily to access internet everywhere, anytime. For that teaching speaking is not only do in class, ask students to practice speaking in partner, group or ask students to present in front of class is not efficient.  Let say that it wastes time, that method is not appropriate when it applied in large class. Luckily, we have technology; we can exploit every corner of technology to help us in teaching and learning process.

Reflection

In this opportunity, we learned about how to make a narrative presentation.  Narrative presentation is very suitable when we want to ask students to do presentation. It is an effective way to teach speaking in large class--more than 40 students.  The procedure is relatively simple, we only need to record our presentation using third application, screen-o-matic or screen recorder.

In this assignment, I and my friend do a duty to collect articles or journals which relate to strategy to teach EFL large class using technology while my friend make PPT. In my opinion, this task taught me new technology to make amazing presentation. I can use it for my next project in another course, it is also can be used by teacher to teach procedure text or video tutorial.
